Kazakhstan plans to build four new airports, two runways and modernize infrastructure in five cities by 2028. In response to an Orda.kz request, the Transport Ministry disclosed details of the projects.
According to the ministry, most of the new airports are being financed by the republican state enterprise Kazaeronavigation from its own funds. At the same time, travelers are unlikely to reach regional resorts through the new airports this summer season, as work in Katon-Karagay, Zaisan and Kenderli is scheduled to be completed only by the end of 2026.
The implementation of these projects was ensured through the republican state enterprise Kazaeronavigation using its own funds. The construction of the airport in Arkalyk was financed from the republican budget, the ministry said.
Kazaeronavigation says its staff provide safe and high-quality air navigation services in line with international standards and support the development of the civil aviation sector.
