Kazakstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this information, reports Orda.kz.
In October, reports surfaced that Kazakhstan and 12 other countries would become BRICS partners.
The Russian media announced the exact date the day before.
We confirm that Kazakhstan will receive the status of a partner country starting January 1, 2025, the official representative of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aibek Smadiyarov, told Orda.
The President's press secretary, Berik Uali, previously stated that Kazakhstan did not plan to join BRICS.
A year earlier, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev expressed a desire to contribute to developing the organization's potential as a member state.
