Russia has upgraded its missiles to better evade Ukraine’s U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems, the Financial Times wrote on Oct. 2, citing current and former Ukrainian and Western officials, Orda.kz reports.
According to the report, the new modifications were evident in strikes targeting Ukraine’s drone industry. At least four drone production facilities were reportedly hit over the summer. Officials also believe two other missiles were directed at offices linked to a manufacturer of drone components.
The strikes also allegedly caused damage to nearby offices used by the EU delegation and the British Council, sources told FT.
Ukrainian authorities have not publicly detailed the extent of the strikes or the missile upgrades, according to The Kyiv Independent.
