The very next day, after a marked improvement in his condition, we discharged him home. Since the beginning of the season, 37 patients have received inpatient treatment after scorpion bites. Another 102 people were treated on an outpatient basis, said Madina Ermakhanbetova, chief physician of the T. Orynbayeva City Center for Hyperbaric Oxygenation.
According to doctors, a scorpion bite can cause severe pain, dizziness, vomiting, and other complications. Such bites are especially dangerous for children, elderly people, and those with chronic diseases.
