A concrete pouring ceremony was held at the second power unit of the Ed-Dabaa NPP in Egypt on November 19. Alexander Korchagin, Senior Vice President of Rosatom's engineering division, announced this.
He claims that the second stage of construction has already been launched. The construction of the first power unit of the El-Dabaa NPP began in July this year with the participation of the most prominent Egyptian contractors and Rosatom.
Rosatom also expressed interest in building a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan last year at the international scientific and practical conference "Russia and Kazakhstan: 30 years of strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation".
At the same time, Russian experts voiced the possibility of expanding ties with Kazakhstan in implementing initiatives to save the Aral Sea and water use on the Ural and Irtysh rivers.
