Rare Lynx Appears in Unexpected Part of Ile-Alatau National Park

A Turkestan lynx listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book has been captured by camera traps in Ile-Alatau National Park, Orda.kz reports.
The rare predator was recorded both at an established monitoring site and in another gorge where the species had not previously been detected.
Specialists are now examining the footage to identify the individual animals, trace their movements and better understand the species’ habitat within the park.
