Kazakhstan’s Prosecutor General’s Office is introducing artificial intelligence into criminal investigations. AI is expected to help analyze large datasets, automate parts of the investigative process and expand investigators’ analytical capabilities, Orda.kz reports.
The announcement followed a meeting between Askhat Sharipov, head of the Pretrial Investigation Service, and representatives of Kazakhstan’s IT companies and digital organizations.
Participants presented AI tools designed for public administration and criminal investigations. National companies also demonstrated their technology and digital forensic tools at the Alem.ai center.
These technologies could significantly improve pretrial investigations by enabling intelligent analysis of large datasets, automating certain processes and expanding analytical capabilities in criminal cases, the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
