According to him, the company that managed the paid parking system is now completing its transfer to the city.
The company that managed the parking lots is transferring them to us free of charge. It was undergoing rehabilitation, but today the court stopped this procedure. We have already signed an additional agreement and expect to finalize the contract in the coming days,Otebayev said.
He noted that it is still difficult to estimate future budget revenues, but previous revenues, including fines, have brought in more than five billion tenge since the system was launched.
Taking into account the city’s growth, there will be more paid parking lots. In some areas, especially on the left bank and in high-density areas, we may revise tariffs upward. At the same time, we will separately define free parking lots near social facilities, the deputy akim said.
He added that the akimat is now considering free parking on weekends.
