Kazakhstan plans to tighten control over taxi drivers by requiring carriers to provide not only their personal data, but also information about the cars used to transport passengers, Orda.kz reports.
The minister of national economy has approved corresponding changes to the notification rules for taxi carriers. Under the new form, taxi drivers will have to submit a notification to local akimats before starting work.
In this regard, the notification form is being supplemented with information about the vehicle, including the make, state registration number and year of manufacture of the car. This measure will make it possible to quickly identify the taxi carrier responsible for the safety of passenger transportation and reduce the share of illegal market participants.the ministry said.
Previously, the rules did not tie a carrier to a specific vehicle. Because of this, in the event of an accident or harm to passengers or other people, it was more difficult to quickly determine who was responsible for the transportation.
