Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on the occasion, calling it a new era in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
According to the head of state, this day marks a radical restructuring of the political system and the transformation of key institutions of the state and civil society.
The new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted following a national referendum held on March 15, 2026. It replaced the country’s previous basic law, which had been in force since 1995. March 15 was officially declared a public holiday — Constitution Day.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that it is symbolic that Constitution Day is now closely linked with the beginning of the Nauryznam decade.
The iconic date harmoniously combines the centuries-old traditions of spring renewal with the fundamental principles of the new Basic Law — the pursuit of civil solidarity, advanced knowledge and conscientious work for the benefit of the Motherland, the president said.
He expressed confidence that, relying on the legal foundation of the new Constitution, Kazakhstan will achieve all its goals.
