Nearly 50 Forest Fires Break Out Across Kazakhstan in a Week

Kazakhstan recorded 47 forest fires between August 2 and 9, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Twenty-one fires occurred in forestry areas managed by local authorities, while another 26 were recorded on state forest land.

The fires were detected through ground and aerial patrols, as well as early wildfire detection systems.

State forest guards, airborne firefighters and Kazavialesoohrana aircraft were involved in the response. Crews prevented the fires from spreading and contained or extinguished the affected areas.

The Ecology Ministry urged people to observe fire safety rules while spending time outdoors.
