Moscow Is “Best Platform” for Talks — Peskov

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s suggestions of holding talks in different countries, including Kazakhstan, said on RBK Radio that Russia had already proposed talks in Moscow, Orda.kz reports.
“Why not come if you’re open to dialogue?” Peskov said.
He added that before Kazakhstan, Kyiv had suggested Switzerland and Austria — options Moscow deemed “absolutely unacceptable,” since the last two countries are “de facto no longer neutral.”
President Vladimir Putin has also said Moscow is the “best place” for negotiations, offering security guarantees and working conditions for the Ukrainian side.
Zelenskyy rejected the idea, comparing it to holding a summit in Kyiv during the war.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met with Zelenskyy to discuss economic and humanitarian cooperation and steps toward ending the conflict.
Zelenskyy thanked Toqayev for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
