More Than 8,500 Kazakhstanis Evacuated From the Middle East
Kazakhstan continues to evacuate its citizens from the Middle East. Since the beginning of the operation, 8,585 people have already returned home, Orda.kz reports.
According to the authorities, Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in the region are coordinating the evacuation and remain in constant contact with citizens.
Amid the ongoing operation, Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held a phone call with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. The sides discussed the current situation in the Middle East and topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
Kosherbayev asked his Israeli counterpart to assist in the evacuation of Kazakh citizens currently in Israel.
The Israeli side assured him that it would make every effort to resolve the evacuation of Kazakhstanis.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry urged citizens to refrain from traveling to the Middle East because of the ongoing hostilities and the closure of airspace in several countries in the region. Kazakhstanis who are already there were advised to observe heightened security measures, avoid potentially dangerous areas, follow the instructions of local authorities, and stay in contact with Kazakh diplomatic missions, tour operators, and airlines.
