Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens to refrain from traveling to the Middle East because of ongoing hostilities and airspace closures in several countries across the region, Orda.kz reports.
The Foreign Ministry said the situation in the Middle East remains tense and the conflict continues to escalate. In this connection, Kazakh citizens are advised to postpone all trips to the region until the situation has fully stabilized.
The recommendation applies to the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Israel, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Syria.
We once again urge citizens of Kazakhstan who are currently in the region to take enhanced personal security measures, avoid visiting potentially dangerous areas, follow the instructions of local authorities, immediately go to shelters in the event of missile threats, and remain in contact with Kazakhstan’s foreign missions, tour operators and air carriers. the ministry said.
Earlier, we reported that on February 28, the armed forces of the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran, carrying out airstrikes on a number of sites. Since then, tensions in the region have continued to rise.
Against the backdrop of the worsening situation, Kazakhstan is continuing to evacuate its citizens from the Middle East. Special flights are being organized to bring Kazakh nationals home.
