More than 3,000 villages in Kazakhstan will be connected to high-speed internet by the end of next year, Digital Development Minister Zhaslan Madiyev said, Orda.kz reports.
According to him, the country is carrying out major projects to expand broadband internet access. By the end of next year, fiber-optic lines are expected to reach more than 3,000 villages.
Everything is subjective. I believe the quality of the internet is good, but we are not stopping there. There is still room for development and improvement. Major infrastructure projects have now been launched to provide broadband internet access in every rural settlement. Construction and installation of fiber-optic lines have already begun, and by the end of next year we plan to extend them to more than 3,000 villages,Madiyev said.
He added that mobile operators are continuing to expand fifth-generation networks. Around 3,000 5G base stations are currently operating in 20 cities across the country.
