Military Jets to Conduct Training Flights Over Astana

A demonstration flight of fighter jets will take place over Astana on May 15, Orda.kz reports.
Military aircraft from Kazakhstan’s air defense forces will fly over the city using colored smoke.
According to the Defense Ministry, military aviation training flights in the capital’s airspace will begin on May 10 in preparation for the event.
The ministry said the fighter jet flights and training exercises will be held at a safe altitude and will not disrupt the usual rhythm of life in the capital.
We ask residents and guests of Astana to understand the possible short-term increase in noise levels during the training and demonstration flight,the ministry said.
The Defense Ministry stressed that all flights will be carried out in strict compliance with safety requirements and will not pose a threat to the public. It also said the use of colored smoke is purely demonstrative and does not harm the environment.
