UAV Operators to Be Trained on EXPO Territory in Astana

At a government meeting, it was announced that the EXPO territory in Astana is planned to be transformed into a next‑generation technological cluster — the Exponential Cluster, Orda.kz reports.
According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence Zhaslan Madiyev, this will be a platform where scientists, startups and businesses will work together in one place.
The Exponential Cluster is a reference innovation platform where science, technology startups and industry operate within a single ecosystem.he said.
The cluster will create centers in various areas — robotics, drones, cybersecurity, GameDev, medicine, agricultural technologies and Industry 4.0.
Madiyev noted that some projects have already been launched.
"The Robotics Center already has a humanoid robot laboratory; remote control and integration with AlemLLM have been implemented, and applied development is underway", — he said.
The drone direction is also being developed in Astana.
The creation of a phygital arena and infrastructure for training UAV operators is being completed at the Drone Center.Madiyev noted.
In other areas, pilot projects are now being launched together with industry partners. All centers are planned to be launched before the end of the year. The government also expects the cluster to become a hub for innovation and to enable the launch of up to 500 startups per year, including more than 100 hardware projects.
