Mangystau Regional Court Leadership Changes as Chair Steps Down

Yerbol Rakhimbekov has departed from his position as Chair of the Mangistau Regional Court, with Isatay Smatov stepping in as acting chair, court officials have confirmed.
Smatov, 46, brings significant international education to the role, having studied abroad through the Bolashaq program at INTO City University of London, Bradford College, and the University of Tulsa.

He previously served as chair of the court's administrative cases panel.
Orda.kz reported about the possible resignation of Yerbol Rakhimbekov a month ago.
He held the post for a year.
Presumably, the reason for the departure was a criminal case related to the top managers of JSC OzenMunayGas.
Judge Rakhimbekov acquitted a defendant in the case of theft of 130 million tenge, but later, the Supreme Court overturned this sentence and imposed a punishment.
