Suspect in $1 Million Fraud Case Extradited From Germany After 10 Years on the Run

A foreign citizen who had been wanted for more than 10 years on suspicion of especially large-scale fraud has been extradited from Germany to Kazakhstan. He is suspected of stealing $1 million from an entrepreneur, Orda.kz reports.
The extradition was organized by the Prosecutor General’s Office and Interpol of the Interior Ministry, with the support of Kazakhstan’s embassy in Germany.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in 2014 the man allegedly stole money from a local entrepreneur under the pretext of helping arrange the supply of computer equipment.
The investigation established that the man, acting in a group of persons by prior conspiracy, under the pretext of assisting in the supply of computer equipment, fraudulently took possession of the money of a Kazakh entrepreneur in the amount of $1 million.the agency said.
According to investigators, he then fled and was placed on the international wanted list. In September 2025, he was detained in Germany. He was later extradited to Kazakhstan at the request of the Kazakh side. The suspect is now being held in a detention center.
The prosecutor’s office said he faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
