In the Mangystau district of the Mangystau region, livestock died after heavy rain and strong winds. The main losses were recorded near the village of Akshymyrau and on the stretch between Sayotes and the seventh turnout, 120–150 kilometers from the district center. Farm animals that strayed toward the railway line also died, Orda.kz reports.
According to preliminary data, more than 100 horses were found dead. The exact number is still being уточняется, as owners have not yet been able to fully count their livestock.
According to the akimat, bad weather damaged the roofs of several facilities in Sayotes on April 14–15. The horses were carried away by water, while some herds lost their route and ended up in salt marshes and waterlogged areas, where the animals became trapped and died.
Residents say nearly every household has suffered losses, ranging from several animals to 10.
If the Emergency Ministry and local authorities do not provide assistance, the situation may seriously worsen. villagers said.
To assess the situation, a special commission was created on April 16–17 with the participation of representatives of state bodies.
The commission continues its work together with the owners of the farms. Issues of compensation for dead livestock registered in the farm animal identification database will be considered under current legislation. The decision will be made by the authorized bodies in the fields of emergency situations, agriculture and veterinary medicine.the district internal policy department said.
To assist in the search and response effort, a Trecol all-terrain vehicle was sent from the Beineu district, and aerial monitoring with drones was organized. The operational headquarters, chaired by the deputy regional akim, instructed oil and gas companies to provide additional equipment. The head of the regional agriculture department is working in the district, meeting with residents and coordinating the response.
All available forces and resources have been mobilized to eliminate the consequences: equipment from major regional enterprises, emergency services and local executive bodies has been involved. Water pumping and recovery work is continuing in an intensified mode. The situation is under special control. Work with livestock owners is ongoing, and modern monitoring tools and special equipment are being used.
