7.7 Hectares of Forest Burn in North Kazakhstan

A large fire broke out in a forestry area in the North Kazakhstan region on the night of April 19, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, dry grass caught fire near the village of Zhanalyk in the Yesil district. The fire then spread to a nearby forest. According to preliminary data, the burned area totaled 7.7 hectares. The fire spread rapidly along the lower part of the forest.
Firefighting was complicated by strong gusty winds, which contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. A headquarters was set up at the scene, and personnel and equipment from the Emergency Situations Department, forestry workers, representatives of local executive bodies and volunteer firefighting teams were involved in extinguishing the fire.the ministry said.
Thanks to the coordinated work of all services, the fire was extinguished. There were no casualties.
