Poisonous spiders have been found near children’s playgrounds. Since the beginning of the year, 18 people have already sought medical care after being bitten by karakurts, Orda.kz reports, citing Lada.kz.
Experts link the earlier and more widespread appearance of karakurts to heavy precipitation in the region.
In addition, some medical organizations do not have enough special serum against the venom of these spiders. As a result, victims have to be transported to medical institutions in the regional center.
According to doctors, two children with signs of karakurt bites have been admitted to the Mangistau Regional Children’s Hospital over the past 10 days. The victims had severe pain at the bite site, nausea, vomiting, and fever. They are now in stable condition and are receiving the necessary treatment.
Regional authorities instructed officials to form the necessary supply of anti-karakurt serum in all cities and districts of the region, strengthen public awareness work, organize the cleaning of yards and utility areas, and carry out disinsection.
