Deputy Prosecutor General Galymzhan Koigeldiyev has commented on the criminal cases against associates of former financial police chief Kairat Kozhamzharov, reports Orda.kz.
Those under investigation include Talgat Tatubayev and Olesya Keksel.
These are different cases, but similar in terms of torture allegations. Tatubayev has been detained. Keksel has an infant, so her status is still being determined, Koigeldiyev said in parliament on September 24.
Meanwhile, Kozhamzharov himself is now suspected of abuse of office and money laundering.
Yesterday, another associate, Maksat Duissenov, was also reported detained.
