Kazakhstan’s Subsoil Users Sign Purchase Contracts Worth 123 Billion Tenge

In Kazakhstan’s subsoil-use sector, 425 guaranteed purchase contracts worth a total of 123 billion tenge have been signed,  Orda.kz reports.

Industry and Construction Minister Yersayin Nagaspayev announced the figures at a government meeting. The authorities expect the contracts to provide domestic manufacturers with a stable market and increase capacity utilization.

According to the minister, a transformer manufacturer in Shymkent is now operating at 90% capacity. Capacity utilization has reached 72% for cable and wire production in Semey and 71% for rope production in Karaganda.

Since 2023, 623 projects have been commissioned as part of efforts to develop new industries. They are intended to modernize the structure of the economy and expand manufacturing output. Kazakhstan has begun producing goods that were not previously made in the country, including locomotive support beams, bus body panels, cylinder blocks and drive-axle beams for trucks, seats, multimedia systems, household appliances, longitudinally welded pipes, window profiles, fiber-cement boards, laminate flooring and heating radiators,Nagaspayev said.

Another 478 projects are planned by 2030. New areas will include transformers for renewable energy projects, gears, presses, hydrogen, hydrogen peroxide, gelatin, peptone and asphalt additives.
