At a congress in Astana on June 14, Adilet party delegates voted to approve Amanat’s merger into the party, Orda.kz reports.
In his speech, party chairman Aibek Dadebay called on congress delegates and party members to support Amanat’s accession to Adilet. The delegates supported the proposal.
The accession of Amanat to the Adilet party is a balanced decision based on national responsibility and standing above narrow party interests. It is concrete proof that Kazakh society is capable of uniting in the interests of the country. This decision is driven by responsibility to society, the state, and future generations, and is aimed at strengthening the country’s unity and well-being. We must justify citizens’ trust and turn justice into the foundation of the state system and development, and, if necessary, into part of national identity. This is precisely why the Adilet party was created, said Adilet party chairman Aibek Dadebay.
The congress also approved regulations for the party’s regional branches.
On June 12, Amanat held a congress where it announced plans to merge into the pro-presidential Adilet party.
Earlier, the possible merger had fueled speculation that Amanat could absorb the new political force to avoid competition for the pro-presidential electorate. In the end, the parties appear to have chosen a more pragmatic solution: not to divide the same political niche.
The move also allows Amanat to move away from direct comparisons with its Nur Otan past and become part of a new pro-presidential configuration under a different name.
