From July 12, Kazakhstanis will be able to see which state bodies requested their personal data through eGov. They will also be able to instantly block an electronic digital signature from their personal account, Orda.kz reports.
The corresponding order was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of AI and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev. The requirements were developed on the basis of the Digital Code, which comes into force on July 11.
The recording of so-called “digital events” will appear in the updated personal account. This means that each request by a state body for a citizen’s personal data will be displayed in their profile. Previously, users could not see such requests.
In addition, a detailed log of all public services received will appear in the personal account. It will show which applications a citizen has submitted, what stage they are at, and what actions have already been performed.
The notification system will also change. eGov will be required to report any important events, status changes, and requests via push notifications, SMS, or email. Kazakhstanis will be able to configure notification and security settings themselves.
The instant EDS revocation function has become especially important. If a person suspects that their electronic signature has fallen into the wrong hands, they will be able to block the certificate directly from their personal account. In recent years, fraudsters have often gained access to other people’s EDS and taken out online loans in their names. The new function is designed to close this loophole.
