The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan has announced the exact number of citizens eligible to vote in the referendum on constitutional amendments, Orda.kz reports.
Based on figures provided by regional akimats and the administrations of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, the voter lists include 12,461,796 people. A total of 12,586,413 ballots will be printed — 1% more than the number of registered voters.
Citizens will be asked:
«Do you accept the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the draft of which was published in the media on February 12, 2026?»
Two response options will be provided:
- «Yes, I accept»
- «No, I do not accept»
Voters must place any mark in the empty box to the right of their chosen option.
The commission also presented the ballot design.

Kazakhstan will hold a nationwide referendum on adopting a new Constitution on March 15, 2026, after President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree calling the vote.
