Kazakhstani Wildberries Sellers Will Receive Advice but No Compensation

Trade and Integration Minister Arman Shakkaliyev commented on the attacks on Wildberries warehouses across Russia. Reporters asked whether the company could move warehouse operations to Kazakhstan and what assistance was available to Kazakhstani sellers who lost their goods, Orda.kz reports.

Speaking at a government briefing, Shakkaliyev said the state would not compensate Kazakhstani sellers. The ministry would, however, provide advisory support.

What is happening in the neighboring country is outside our jurisdiction. That is the first point. Second, we are not an insurer, and no insurance company has confirmed coverage for transactions outside our jurisdiction. We can, however, provide advice and clarification on filing claims against business partners and help address these issues,the minister said.

Shakkaliyev added that Wildberries had not asked the government to accommodate any new warehouses in Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, construction of large warehouses covering more than 100,000 square meters in Almaty and Astana is continuing as planned.

Wildberries already operates warehouses in Kazakhstan with a combined area of 46,000 square meters.
