President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev held separate meetings with newly appointed Justice Minister Yerlan Sarsembayev and National Security Committee (KNB) Chairman Yermek Sagimbayev to discuss national priorities and security measures.
Sarsembayev recently replaced the dismissed Azamat Yeskarayev.
He updated the President on the Justice Ministry's work implementing the "Fair Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Social Optimism" agenda.
The Minister emphasized his department's focus on improving legislative quality and creating "a fair and safe society."
In a separate briefing, KNB Chair Sagimbayev detailed his agency's 2024 plans "in light of current challenges and threats," according to the Aqorda press service.
He outlined efforts to modernize national security operations, including updates to the legal framework and ongoing digitalization initiatives. Sagimbayev's report covered counter-terrorism measures, religious extremism prevention, cybersecurity enhancement, and border protection.
The security chief had previously informed Toqayev in December that the KNB had successfully prevented four terrorist attacks in Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2024.
