Kazakhstan plans to update its system of state awards and establish new orders. The law introducing the relevant amendments was approved by the Senate, Orda.kz reports.
The document provides for amendments to the law “On State Awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” One of the changes is a ban on awarding the same honorary title more than once.
The list of state awards may also include three new orders:
- “AL-FARABI”
- “QOJA AHMET YASSAUI”
- “Meyirim”
The Order of “AL-FARABI” is intended to recognize citizens for achievements in education, science, culture, and the spiritual sphere.
The Order of “QOJA AHMET YASSAUI” is intended for Kazakhstani and foreign scholars, public and state figures, and people who have contributed to strengthening statehood and developing the social, humanitarian, and cultural spheres.
The Order of “Meyirim” would be awarded for charity, patronage, and philanthropic work.
The amendments also clarify the procedure for awarding military personnel and law enforcement officers with the orders “Dank,” “Aibyn,” and the medal “Zhauyngerlik erligi üshin.”
In addition, the law separately establishes the list of awards for mothers of many children — the pendants “Altyn alka” and “Kumis alka.”
