Kazakhstan has approved a project to build 250 roadside service stations along international and national highways, Orda.kz reports.
The project will be financed by a private investor. Car Park Transformer LLP is expected to invest 179.5 billion tenge.
The investment agreement will be signed by the Ministry of Transport and Car Park Transformer LLP. The relevant government decree has already been signed by the prime minister.
The stations are expected to be built by 2030. The first 50 facilities are planned for this year.
The new roadside stations are supposed to include toilets, retail outlets, service areas, electric vehicle charging points, and solar power plants. The surrounding areas are also expected to be landscaped.
The government says the project should expand Kazakhstan’s roadside service network, support infrastructure for electric vehicles, and create 2,000 jobs.
There are currently 1,428 roadside service facilities along Kazakhstan’s international and national highways.
