President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and King Abdullah II of Jordan concluded negotiations at Aqorda with the signing of intergovernmental and commercial agreements, Orda.kz reports.
The talks began with trade. Kazakhstan aims to boost turnover with Jordan to USD 500 million.
"Kazakhstan is ready to expand exports to the Jordanian market by offering 60 types of non-commodity goods worth a total of $250 million," Aqorda reported.
Toqayev proposed developing joint transport links, while Jordanian delegates expressed readiness to assist Kazakh entrepreneurs in entering Gulf markets.
The two sides also reached an agreement on cooperation between Kazatomprom and the Jordan Uranium Mining Company (JUMCO). Further plans include sharing expertise in medicine, the halal industry, and defense.
Air connections are set to expand as well. Royal Jordanian intends to launch direct flights between Amman and Almaty next year.
During the visit, King Abdullah II awarded Toqayev the Highest Order of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, "Al-Nahda," in recognition of his personal contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation.
