The Ministry of Education has issued methodological recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process, Orda.kz reports.
The recommendations include ready-made algorithms and scenarios for using digital services in educational practice. Among the tools that may be used in lessons are Canva, ChatGPT, Gemini Storybook, NotebookLM, Reading Coach and Google Lens.
Their use helps reduce the administrative burden on teachers and adapt learning materials to the individual characteristics of students. The recommendations were published on the official website of the Y. Altynsarin National Academy of Education. The document is intended for teachers, methodologists, heads of educational organizations and students, and is aimed at supporting the systemic digital transformation of schools. the ministry said.
The document’s main principle is that AI cannot replace a teacher. It is treated as an auxiliary tool for lesson preparation, adapting materials and analytical work.
Full automation of student assessment is not allowed. Any material prepared using artificial intelligence must be checked by a teacher. Students’ personal data must not be entered into third-party services, and the platforms used in lessons must comply with legal requirements. Students may not present work completed with the help of AI as their own. If necessary, the teacher has the right to ask for the task to be redone.the statement says.
Assessment, the choice of educational content and final decisions remain solely the responsibility of the teacher, the ministry added.
