A new political party, Adilet, has announced its launch ahead of the upcoming Kurultai elections in Kazakhstan. The team said it will submit its registration application to the Ministry of Justice on April 16, Orda.kz reports.
The party’s initiative group includes 16 people representing different fields, including business, education, the public sector and human rights organizations.
According to its founders, the party supports constitutional reforms, advocates the rule of law and calls for greater public participation in decision-making.
The members of the initiative group who signed the application are Gulzira Atabayeva, Renat Bekturov, Karlygash Zhamankulova, Dinara Zakieva, Laura Karabasova, Rauan Kenzhekhanuly, Zamira Kuziyeva, Aigazy Kusainov, Nurbek Matzhani, Burikhan Nurmukhamedov, Ayat Sugirbay, Muhammadkali Tauan, Irina Ten, Lazzat Chinkisbayeva and Marat Shibutov.
Representatives of the new party say they want to unite young people, professionals from different sectors, and residents of both cities and villages. Among their main principles, they name justice, patriotism, hard work, responsibility and progress.
The elections to the Kurultai, which Kassym-Jomart Tokayev mentioned earlier, are expected to be held in August. Under the new Constitution, Kazakhstan’s bicameral parliament is to be replaced by a unicameral Kurultai of 145 deputies elected for five years. The Constitution is due to enter into force on July 1, 2026, after which elections to the new parliament are expected to be announced.
