Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio Discuss Global Security and Cooperation

Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu, held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss key issues of political dialogue and economic cooperation, Orda.kz reports.
The two officials exchanged views on global security and regional stability, with both sides emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between their countries.
The parties also discussed the current state and prospects for the development of an expanded strategic partnership between the two countries, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry stated.
Nurtleu and Rubio agreed to maintain regular communication moving forward.
Rubio had advocated for lifting the Jackson-Vanik amendment, a Cold War-era trade restriction on Kazakhstan.
