The investigation believes the group’s members forged documents and changed the declared origin of the goods in order to clear customs, Orda.kz reports.
In Kazakhstan, authorities uncovered a group that exported a valuable biological resource abroad — artemia cysts. The cargo was disguised as products from another country. The investigation was carried out by KNB officers together with the prosecutor’s office.
Raw materials were collected in the Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions. They were then processed, stored and prepared for shipment. In order not to attract attention, the participants in the scheme prepared fictitious documents. They stated that the goods had allegedly been produced in Kyrgyzstan. the General Transport Prosecutor’s Office of Kazakhstan reported.
In this way, according to the investigation, 88 tons of artemia cysts were taken across the border. The damage to the state was estimated at more than 142 million tenge. This money has already been recovered. The case materials have been transferred to court.
