On August 9, news surfaced that during the search for a missing EC-145 military aircraft in the Almaty region, fragments of the helicopter and the body of one of the missing crew members were discovered at a depth of about 14 meters, Orda.kz reports.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed the find, stating that during underwater operations, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan located partial wreckage and a body. It was later reported that identification procedures established that this was Nurzhigit Uisinbayev.
His body was brought to the city and given to his family.
In the Turkistan region, preparations began for his funeral. The farewell ceremony began today at 11:00 a.m.
According to the ministry, diving operations are complicated by poor visibility and silt deposits, but all rescue units are working in coordination.
The helicopter disappeared from radar on July 25 in the Jambyl region. Using satellite data, search teams identified a possible location of the aircraft and deployed immediately.
The following day, an oil slick and separate debris were found on the surface of Lake Sorbulaq.
