EAEU Countries Agree to Recognize Each Other’s Academic Titles

The Eurasian Economic Union’s member states have agreed to recognize academic titles awarded in one another’s countries, Orda.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan’s Trade Ministry.

The agreement was signed by the EAEU heads of government during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

Kazakh professors, associate professors and senior researchers will no longer have to complete additional recognition procedures when applying for work in another EAEU country.

The agreement also applies to documents on academic titles issued before it enters into force,the ministry said.

The new rules are expected to make it easier for academics to work across the EAEU and reduce the time and cost involved in having their qualifications recognized.

An agreement on the mutual recognition of academic degrees has already been in force across the EAEU since May 2024.
