Drone Attack on Tanker Did Not Affect Kazakh Oil Shipments, Energy Ministry Says

Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry said a drone attack on the Nordic Zenith oil tanker near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal in the Black Sea did not disrupt Kazakh oil shipments, Orda.kz reports.

The tanker was struck by two drones on July 17 while heading to the terminal near Novorossiysk.

The vessel was empty and heading to the terminal to load crude oil. The crew quickly extinguished the fire without outside assistance. No one was injured, and there is no threat to Kazakh oil,the ministry said.

The ministry added that all terminal infrastructure was operating normally. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium continued loading oil onto tankers according to schedule.
