On March 19, the head of state met in Almaty with representatives of the scientific community and made a number of important statements about the development of the country, science, and human capital, Orda.kz reports.
Descendants will forgive mistakes, but not missed opportunities "to turn Kazakhstan into a fair, strong state, where there is a cult of law-abidingness, cleanliness, a careful attitude toward nature and, of course, a cult of education and knowledge" was one of Tokayev's main statements.
What else did the president say:
– Bet on human capital
The president addressed the scientific and academic community, stressing that the future of the country depends on their ideas and research.
– Kazakhstan is a potential scientific center of Eurasia
The country can become one of the leading scientific and technological centers of the region.
– You can't stop at what has been achieved
In the context of global competition, it is important to keep moving forward and not be satisfied with the current results.
– Development of science in the regions
Academic excellence centers and research centers, from energy to biotechnology, are being created at 11 regional universities.
– From copying to creating knowledge
Kazakhstan should not borrow knowledge, but create its own scientific developments.
– Human-centered development model
The president noted the need to transition to a model in which the main resource is the person, their knowledge, and their abilities.
– Development of science and the Constitution
In the new Constitution, we have consolidated the development of human capital, education, science, and innovation as a strategic direction of the state's activities. Now we are all obliged to implement this goal. There is no other way. This is a very difficult task, and we must understand it. To achieve this goal, the scientific community must show professionalism, responsibility, and patriotism. I have high hopes for you.Tokayev said.
– "People's Constitution" and legal foundation
The renewal of the country begins with strengthening the legal framework, not with slogans. The new Constitution will become a reliable support for statehood and sovereignty. Tokayev stressed that it preserves the continuity of the legal traditions of the Great Steppe - from "Kasym khannyn қaska zholy" to "Zhety Zhargy" - and called it the People's Constitution.
