President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqayev spoke at the meeting of the "outreach" / "BRICS Plus" format at the association's summit in Kazan.
The Head of State called the organization a global center of attraction with huge development potential. He emphasized the importance of friendly relations between Kazakhstan and all its members.
The President again supported China and Brazil's peace plan for Ukraine and discussed the conflict in the Middle East.
Our country shares the concerns of BRICS member states about the worsening situation in the Middle East, which has led to a huge number of human casualties and a humanitarian catastrophe. Joint solutions for the root causes of conflicts, such as poverty, inequality and lack of education, in our opinion, remains a crucial factor in strengthening international political solidarity, Toqayev said.
Toqayev also proposes expanding the UN Security Council to include countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
The voices of the countries of the global South must be heard in addressing matters of peace and security. BRICS can play a key role in this process.
Speaking about energy security, the head of state stated that Kazakhstan strives to form reliable partnership relations within "BRICS Plus."
We are interested in promoting existing and launching promising projects in the field of oil and gas production and processing, as well as critical minerals, the president summed up.
