Almaty Man Registered 990 People In One-Room Apartment And Received Sentence

A man in Almaty received a sentence after registering 990 people in his one-room apartment for money, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Almaty prosecutor’s office, the apartment owner registered people at his address even though they did not actually live there.
The case was uncovered during an inspection in the city’s Nauryzbay District.
In a criminal case registered by the district prosecutor’s office under Article 394 of the Criminal Code — organization of illegal migration — the court found the owner of the ‘rubber apartment’ guilty. He was sentenced to one year of restricted freedom,the prosecutor’s office said.
The supervisory authority reminded citizens to comply with migration legislation.
