AK Altynalmas has sold 100% of Maikainzoloto for 8.7 billion tenge, Orda.kz reports.
The buyer was Gouden Reserves Kazakhstan Limited, a company linked to the Netherlands-based Gouden Reserves B.V., which is also a key shareholder of Altynalmas itself.
The sale announcement was published on the Astana International Exchange. The deal was closed on June 17, 2026, while the sale and purchase agreement was signed earlier, on April 27.
The total value of the transaction was 8,717,873,000 tenge. After the sale, Maikainzoloto was removed from Altynalmas’s list of subsidiaries.
Gouden Reserves Kazakhstan Limited was registered in the Astana International Financial Centre in May 2024 and operates as a holding company. Its shareholders include Gouden Reserves B.V. The same structure, according to KASE, remains the largest shareholder of AK Altynalmas.
A year ago, Altynalmas bought Maikainzoloto for 6.06 billion tenge. The asset has now been sold for 2.7 billion tenge more.
Maikainzoloto is one of Kazakhstan’s oldest gold mining companies. In January 2024, a tragedy occurred at its site when a bus carrying rescuers fell underground, killing four people. A court later found two former employees responsible for industrial safety guilty.
