Bad Roads: KazAvtoJol to Pay 16 Million Tenge in Fines

Officials were fined for poor quality roads in the Almaty region, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
An Almaty Region Court held a company branch administratively liable for failure to comply with an order previously issued by the police.
The organization must pay a 738,400-tenge fine.
Since the beginning of this year, the employees of the Almaty Region Department of Road Traffic have conducted 1,579 inspections of public roads. As a result of the work, numerous shortcomings in road maintenance were identified, for the elimination of which 1,579 orders were sent to road maintenance organizations, the report says.
321 officials and legal entities will bear administrative liability, including the Almaty regional branch of JSC NC "KazAvtoJol" and TOO "KAZhservice."
The total fine amount is more than 16 million tenge. 30 administrative materials were issued for failure to comply with previously issued orders.
