Azerbaijan has officially notified Rossotrudnichestvo about terminating Russian House operations in Baku, Orda reports, citing Azerbaycan24.
Azerbaijan continues its consistent course to protect its national interests and demonstrates that it will not tolerate external interference in its internal affairs, regardless of its origin,Azerbaycan24 writes.
Rossotrudnichestvo head Yevgeny Primakov confirmed that Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry called for the Russian House's closure in Baku due to its lack of registration as a legal entity.
He said Russia's Foreign Ministry is "working to resolve the situation."
According to Primakov, the Russian House has been given a month and a half to vacate its rented premises, as the owner has declared intentions for an urgent sale.
Baku has previously taken steps to limit foreign NGO activity and media influence.
Meanwhile, Baku TV aired a critical report in January, claiming the Russian House served as a hub for intelligence operations rather than cultural exchange.
