Air Astana Flight to Frankfurt Lands in Aktobe After Engine Failure

An Air Astana aircraft flying from Astana to Frankfurt made an emergency landing in Aktobe after one of its engines failed, Orda.kz reports.
Flight KZ R921 was operated on an Airbus A321. After takeoff from Astana Airport, the crew issued a PAN-PAN urgency signal. There were 93 passengers on board, including four children and one infant.
The crew decided to divert the aircraft to Aktobe. The Ministry of Transport has launched an investigation into the incident.
The aircraft landed at Aktobe Airport in normal mode at 11:34 a.m. local time. The crew acted in accordance with procedures. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking stand on its own. Airport emergency rescue and ground services were deployed,the Civil Aviation Committee said.
No injuries or damage to the aircraft have been reported.
The aviation event has been classified as a serious incident and is subject to investigation,the committee added.
Recently, a SWISS aircraft flying from Seoul to Zurich made an emergency landing in Almaty after the co-pilot fell ill.
