AI To Check How Kazakhstan’s State Agencies Work

Kazakhstan’s Economy Ministry is changing the rules for analyzing the work of state bodies. Artificial intelligence is now expected to be used to assess officials’ workloads, detect anomalies, and identify corruption risks, Orda.kz reports.
Under the new methodology, technology should help identify anomalies and contradictions, analyze employee workloads, detect corruption risks, and find ways to reduce bureaucracy.
At the same time, the state is changing its approach to the functions of state bodies themselves. They will now be sorted through a special functional analytics module. Functions will be divided into five categories: priority, universal, process-related, related, and auxiliary. This approach is intended to show which tasks can be optimized.
State bodies will have no more than 20 working days to conduct such an analysis. The materials will then be reviewed and final conclusions prepared. After that, recommendations will be sent to the government. If necessary, separate meetings will be held there on digital solutions and possible changes to the work of the state apparatus.
The order also provides for an AI laboratory at the Academy of Public Administration. It will develop, test, and implement intelligent solutions for the public sector.
