Ahead of Toqayev’s Visit to Washington: U.S. Envoys Sergio Gor and Christopher Landau Visit Almaty

Ahead of President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev’s upcoming trip to the United States, Almaty welcomed visiting American officials — Sergio Gor, U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, and Christopher Landau, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Orda.kz reports.
Toqayev is scheduled to travel to Washington on November 6 to take part in a summit at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
On Sunday, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the arrival of the American delegation.
According to Aqorda, the U.S. representatives visited several of Almaty’s main landmarks and met with senior officials.




The visit program includes meetings to discuss prospects for Kazakh–American relations as well as international and regional issues,
the presidential press service stated.
During their stay, Sergio Gor and Christopher Landau toured the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Shymbulaq ski resort, and the Medeu complex, accompanied by Aibek Dadebay, Head of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
