President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for inviting him to take part in the upcoming summit in Washington on November 6, Orda.kz reports.
Toqayev noted that, like the American leader, he supports efforts to uphold traditional values, peace, and international security.
Meanwhile, the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a U.S. delegation will visit Kazakhstan next week.
A visit by U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Sergio Gor and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau is expected,
the ministry said in a statement.
Talks are expected to focus on economic cooperation, regional security, and further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The U.S. State Department earlier announced the trip, describing it as part of ongoing efforts to deepen engagement with Central Asia. This is not the first time President Toqayev has voiced support for the U.S. administration’s diplomatic initiatives.
Astana had welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza.
Presidential aide Ruslan Zheldibay made the statement, highlighting that President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev considered the initiative as important for the region.
