The Ukrainian President said in an interview with Sky News that he is ready to end the hot phase of the war if NATO invitation recognizes Ukraine's internationally recognized borders, Orda.kz reports.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine's future security hinges on joining NATO. Even if not all territories are liberated militarily, membership in the alliance will help return the occupied regions by diplomatic means.
The President expressed confidence that Ukraine should be invited to NATO within its internationally recognized borders, including the annexed Crimea.
The Ukrainian President believes that joining the alliance guarantees the country's protection from further aggression from Russia.
He also noted that a simple ceasefire without international security guarantees would only embolden Russia and could lead to more Ukrainian land being lost.
